On February 24th 2026, The Maryland State Police designated Public Security LLC a Special Police Agency. This designation makes Public Security LLC eligible for the appointment of Special Police Officers pursuant to Maryland’s Public Safety Article § 3-303 (A(4) to serve the the properties of their clients in the entire state of Maryland. This will greatly enhance our protective abilities and grant powers of arrest on properties that are owned or leased by our clients.
SCOPE OF SERVICES PROVIDED BY PUBLIC SECURITY LLC SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS
The Public Security LLC can now provide Special Police Officers (SPOs) to protect the properties of their client by signing a request for Special Police services and a non-binding contract agreement.
Powers: Special Police Officers are commissioned by the Governor of Maryland and have the powers of police officers to act on the premises of Public Security LLC clients.
Duties: Services include, but are not limited to, patrolling, enforcing state and local laws, making arrests, and conducting investigations on the premises.
Post Orders: Officers shall operate under the annotated code of Maryland public safety article Special Police Officers 3-301 to 3-316
Service Level: Armed, commissioned Special Police Officers with arrest authority, vehicle stop
authority and all other Special Police powers under Maryland law, Annotated Code of Maryland Public Safety Article Special Police Officers

Objectives: Provide patrols, deter criminal activity, enforce property rules, and reduce incidents, with the capability to make arrests and issue traffic citations under Maryland law if necessary.
Hours: On call 24 hours a day, seven days a week when coverage is needed. Coverage times fluctuate for special events, holidays, increases in threat levels, and unforeseen events.
