Many of you know me to be an highly effective pistol instructor devoted to excellence. I have taught hundreds of everyday citizens how to defend themselves with a pistol. What you may not know is that I am also a certified ASP baton instructor. I love teaching the baton class and so honored to do so. It is a combination between classroom and physical interaction. Students also perform baton strikes in the class. Not to worry, you do not get hit. However, you will be striking a target. If you are a wear & carry permit holder, I can't begin to tell you how important it is to have a less than lethal option prior to using your firearm for self-defense. If you are ever in the situation and you use your firearm in self defense, a judge and a jury will want to know what steps you took working up the ladder of force prior to using deadly physical force. All the more reason why it is so important to get this certification so you carry this tool with confidence and become proficient. Personally, I have carried one in a law enforcement capacity since around 1996. Then, in a security, executive protection, and  private detective capacity. Of course, yes while I was in the Secret Service also. It is not just for the police and security officers.  It should be carried side by side with your legally carried handgun. This baton is also very effective carrying it by itself as a means of self defense. Take the time to invest in yourself (ONLY 4 HOUR CLASS) and your skills. ASP TRAINING CERTIFICATION

4 Hour training for those seeking to become certified with the ASP expandable police baton

This is a classroom environment course combined with physical activity class. You will be practicing strikes with the baton during parts of this training. It can be physically demanding, however not overwhelming.

If you already have your wear and carry handgun permit, you should always have a less than lethal option before resorting to deadly physical force with your firearm. A judge and jury will want to know the less than lethal steps you

took prior to using a firearm in a self defense situation.

The ASP baton is an option that can be used for self defense that is less than lethal.

This is a physically demanding training session that includes classroom and participating is multiple physical baton strikes for practice and demonstration of the skill.

There is a required written test.

This is not a pay and pass course.

1) Intending that this Agreement be legally binding upon me, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, I hereby waive, release, and forever discharge Armament Systems and Procedures, INC, Public Security LL and all of their agents, representatives, heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns, of and from any and all claims, demands, rights and causes of action of whatsoever kind and nature, arising from, and by reason of any and all known and unknown, foreseen and unforeseen physical and mental injuries and consequences thereof, suffered by me during any and all ASP training activities. 

2) In signing this Release, I assert that (a) I am presently in good physical and mental health; (b) I have no reason to believe that I am not in good physical and mental health; (c) I am fully aware of, and do acknowledge and assume all risk of injury inherent in my participation in this training seminar; (d) I have read and fully understand the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

This program is competency based. Mere participation does not automatically assure successful completion 

Students will wear these clothes for this training day:
Footwear: sneakers or boots
Pants: jeans or utility pants with belt loops
Shirt: tee shirt or sweat shirt.

We recommend that you purchase 21-inch baton for use.  Each student should have their own baton.

WHEN DEFENDING A THIRD PARTY

You must actually believe that the person you are defending is In
immediate and imminent danger of bodily harm

Your actions must be reasonable to a jury

You must use no more force than was reasonably necessary in light
of the threatened or actual force and;

Your purpose for using force was to aid the person you are
Defending

You can not use force anymore than what it takes to stop the
attack and you can not use force to punish attacker.
